VRATE 2011 will be held in the Shriners Auditorium located at
552 N. 40th St. Phoenix, AZ 85008. This new, more central location is just a short distance from light rail and bus stops, and a free shuttle service will be available from the stops directly to VRATE. Reservations are required to take advantage of this service from American Liberty, and contact information is posted below.
Driving Directions
The Shriners Auditorium is located off of N. 40th Street, south of loop 202 and north of East Van Buren Street. The driveway is just north of the Frito-Lay Distribution Center at 562 N. 40th St. and parking attendants will be present on 40th St. to guide you into the Shriners Auditorium parking lot. Directions to VRATE on Friday, December 2, 2011
To the Shriners Auditorium 552 N 40th Street, PHX, 85008
Directions from the Light Rail stop @ 38th Street and Washington:
There will be two vans that will pick you up @ the Park and Ride lot which is located on the NW corner of 38th St and Washington in the parking lot at Gateway Community College.
To walk to the Park and Ride lot;
Get off light at rail and you are on Washington. You need to walk to the intersection @36th street & Washington and turn north to cross Washington at Gateway Drive which is a T intersection. Cross ½ the street and continue North a short block and cross at the 1st Driveway. You are @ the Park and Ride lot and the van should see you.
It is recommended to take the shuttle from the Park and Ride lot. If you want to walk it is dangerous because there are no sidewalks to get into the Shriner’s Auditorium.
Please continue E on Washington to 40th Street. Walk .7 miles to Shriner’s, past the Frito Lay Distribution center. Walk North on the west side of the street you will pass three driveways and turn at the beginning of the 4th driveway, then be at the entrance to the Auditorium. There will be staff directing traffic for parking. If you choose to walk please follow the curb on your left side (long one, the another short curb and then the sidewalk. Turn left and find the door walking midway on the side walk (about ½ a block).
Public Transportation
Bus and light rail stops are present at 38th St. and Washington St. and a free shuttle service will be available from this location to the Shriners Auditorium. Please use this link to the Valley Metro trip Planner to plan your route to VRATE:
