Vision Through Experience: Encouraging The Blind Understand The Language Of the Sighted World
A somewhat unconventional, often overlooked perspective on teaching blindness skills to both children and adults. Lindsey will discuss, and possibly demonstrate!, her experiences working in the music classroom and theatre., Lindsey will describe the key elements that would enable a person with vision loss to learn to navigate the mainstream world functionally, socially, and psychologically. Based on the principles of universal design and human-compatible learning, you will learn to nurture those who are blind with an inside-out, whole-part-whole approach that will build conceptual knowledge in complete safety, without fear.

Many individuals struggle with the thought of returning to work and they do not realize that benefits do not end; actually, they just shift. There are numerous work incentives specifically intended for individuals with blindness and low vision that can support you to achieve financial wellness and independent living. “Pathways to Further Education Employment and Independent Living through Benefits Management’ will discuss resources for support, we will review Social Security rules, Social Security benefits, healthcare, and employment.
